GETTING BACK INTO IT AFTER THE HOLIDAYS
The start of a new year for many is the perfect time for resolutions, setting goals, and getting back into the swing of a fitness routine again. But what if the holidays (and your comfiest pair of sweats) pose a bigger threat to your aspirations than you’d like?
Whether you’ve chosen this month (or any day, for that matter) to start off your fitness journey or are simply in a deep slump from the holiday season, here are a few tips to help make your fitness dreams become a reality.
SET REALISTIC GOALS FOR YOURSELF
Especially if you’re new to this, setting manageable goals for yourself can really help keep you motivated to continue setting more in the future. Small goals are still strong goals and figuring out what you’d like to achieve this year (and when) will make it just that much easier to accomplish.
TAKE TIME TO BREATHE
Mapping out your whole fitness journey doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t book in some downtime for yourself as well. Finding a space in your busy schedule to incorporate some yoga or a quick meditation session into your routine can really help balance and rejuvenate you for your next big workout. Even something as small as going for a 5 minute walk amidst your busy day at work can make a big difference. Throw on our Cashmere Feel Aura Crop Top and Aura Pocket Legging and you’ll be more than ready to unwind.
FIND INSPIRATION
Whether it’s from following someone new on Instagram or picking out a current piece from our Core Collection for your next workout, sometimes a burst of inspiration is all that you need in order to stay on track—and on trend. Right now our team is inspired by @melissawoodhealth for effective at-home workouts and @bonberi for energy-fueled plant-based recipes.
RECRUIT A FRIEND
Unsure whether you’ll be able to stick to your fitness goal? Ask a friend (family members or partners work great too) to help make it fun and keep you diligent! This way you’ll be held accountable for your fitness plan while also having someone else to keep you company along the way. Want to coordinate your looks while you’re hitting the gym? Check out what @fitforfoodies wore to do so in our last Journal post.
Whether one or all of these tips are perfect for you to make the most of your 2019, make sure you adapt our suggestions to what best fits your needs. If you prefer to work out solo or use running as a way to meditate make sure you prioritize yourself this year and make the most of what's to come :)
